    Coronavirus Update 7/20/2020

Posted July 20, 2020 in News

The Department of Public Health (DPH) and Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), the SNF regulatory agencies, and the Department of Social Services (DSS), the Assisted Living (AL) regulatory agency, continue to publish guidelines for testing and visitation as well as other COVID related issues.

Inland Christian Home (ICH) is continuing to follow these guidelines.

In Skilled Nursing (SNF) there have been no recent positive tests of either residents or employees. We are following a “surveillance” (25% of staff each week) testing schedule.

In Assisted Living and the Haven, due to the positive employee tests reported in our 7/13/2020 update, we are testing all residents and staff and plan to do so every two weeks. Testing is also being completed for some Cottage and Apartment residents who may have come in contact with staff who tested positive. After two consecutive bi-weekly tests in which there are no positives, we will follow a “surveillance” testing schedule where 10% of all AL employees will be tested every 2 weeks.

Obtaining the number of tests required in a timely manner continues to be challenging.

The recently released DPH and DSS recommendations do allow for the potential for restricted visitation, However, due to recent positive tests at ICH and the need for further clarification from the regulatory agencies, we will continue to enforce a no visitation policy for the time being.

Please continue to pray for the safety of the residents and staff, and pray for God’s guidance.

We will continue to communicate with residents and update our website, www.ichome.org, with information for residents, families, and the general public.

Please contact Mary Wolff at 909-467-6152 and maryw@ichome.org with any questions.

    Sincerely,

    David Stienstra

    Executive Director
